Terms and Conditions

 

All pat testing work will be carried out according to the Institute of Electrical Engineers (lET) Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment and to the standards set out by the NICEIC.

 

Because the lET code of practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment does not deal with the legislation relating to the supply of equipment, whether new or second-hand, to a third party, by way of sale or other method, Emerald PAT Testing will not test any equipment which is indented for supply to a third party. Any equipment made available for supply at any time after being tested by Emerald PAT Testing will null and void the test results.

 

A competent person shall be provided by the customer to meet our Emerald PAT Testing technician, to advise on any site safety information needed and any potential hazards when working at the customer's premises and to also ensure availability of appliances for pat testing.

 

Emerald PAT Testing accepts no liability for Injury, loss or damage, for appliances that are not made available or are inaccessible during the agreed pat testing / inspection period.

 

The customer shall ensure that any critical information or data has been protected / backed up prior to the start of inspection and testing.

 

Emerald PAT Testing provides Insurance cover for public liability. No liability is accepted for business interruption, loss of data or business information, losses to business related services or loss to business profits.

 

Emerald PAT Testing accepts no liability for injury, loss or damage to appliances that are found to be faulty before or after pat testing.

 

All PAT Testing is carried out solely at the appliance owner's risk.

 

Payment is due within 30 days from date of invoice.

 

The ownership of test results remains the property of Emerald PAT Testing until all invoices are paid In full.

 

Results are kept on record in our database and a copy can be requested.

 

A Certificate and Log will be issued once Emerald PAT Testing are in receipt of cleared funds and any outstanding invoices are paid in full.

 

Emerald PAT Testing warrants that it will comply in all respects with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“MSA”) and agrees that it will not do or permit any act that might constitute an offence under the MSA.  Emerald PAT Testing shall ensure that it requires all sub-contractors, suppliers and other third parties involved in the provision of the pat testing to enter into a binding contractual obligation to comply with, and not to commit an offence under, the MSA.  The customer shall be entitled to terminate the contract with immediate effect and without liability whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise and to recover from  Emerald PAT Testing all reasonable costs or losses resulting from such termination where Emerald PAT Testing or any sub-contractor or other person acting on its behalf, has committed an offence under the MSA or has otherwise breached this term.
